How to output uncompressed movie from a camera to an external HDMI devices

The cameras listed below can output uncompressed movie data (Also known as clean-HDMI-feed)  from the HDMI port to an external HDMI devices including recorder/monitor as well as capture card.

External HDMI recorders/monitors benefit from large hard drive capacity and can save high-quality movies in a range of codecs. Other functions to enhance movie recording such as long duration recording, timecode, zebra patterns, etc. are possible depending on the camera and recorder/monitor used.

If you intend to use the camera for high quality live-streaming, web-conferences and video-calls.  You can also pair the listed camera to a compatible HDMI capture card or HDMI switches.

Recommended camera setup
Setup options vary according to camera and recorder: (Refer to the respective reference manual for details)

  1. Set the movie Frame size/ frame rate to your preference.

  2. HDMI output resolution, set to Auto.

  3. HDMI output display size set to 100%.

  4. HDMI Live view on-screen display > Off.

  5. Standby timers should be set to no limit or the maximum time allowed.
