Differences between EN-EL3e and EN-EL3/EN-EL3a batteries

Differences between EN-EL3e and EN-EL3/EN-EL3a batteries

EN-EL3e

When the battery is being used with a D200, the following functions can be used:

- Equipped with an error compensation function, accurate battery level in units of 1% is displayed.
- The number of times the shutter has been released since the battery was last charged is displayed.
- The level of battery deterioration (age) is displayed with a 5-level indicator.

When used with the D100, D70 series, and D50, the battery can be used, but no information other than the battery level is displayed, and accuracy of that display is limited to pre-EN-EL3e accuracy. Functions available with the D200 only cannot be used.

EN-EL3 and EN-EL3a

EN-EL3 and EN-EL3a batteries are not compatible with the D200. They are only compatible with the D100, D70 series and D50 cameras.
