What lenses and functions are supported with the Nikon D60?

CPU lenses (except IX Nikkor CPU lenses) are recommended for use with this camera.
To use autofocus, AF-S Nikkor lenses or AF-I Nikkor lenses with a built-in autofocus motor must be used.

1 - Spot metering meters selected focus area.
2 - Camera exposure metering and flash control may not function when lens is shifted and/or tilted or aperture is not at maximum.
3 - Electronic range finder can not be used when shifting or tilting lens.

6 - If AF 80-200mm f/2.8S, AF 35-70mm f/2.8S, new-model 28-85mm f/3.5-4.5S, or AF 28-85mm f/3.5-4.5S is zoomed while focusing at minimum range, image on matte screen in viewfinder may not be in focus when in-focus indicator is displayed. Focus manually using image in viewfinder as guide.


7 - With maximum aperture of f/5.6 or faster.

  • Type G and D lenses support 3D color matrix metering II
  • Vibration reduction is available with Type G and D VR lenses only

8 – Electronic analog exposure display is not available.

9 – Can be used in manual exposure modes at shutter speeds slower than 1/125s. Electronic analog exposure display is not available.

10 – The following accessories and non-CPU lenses CANNOT be used with D60. Doing so may damage the camera.

  • AF Teleconverter TC-16A
  • Non-AI Lenses
  • Lenses that require the Focusing Unit AU-1 (400mm f/4.5, 600mm f/5.6, 800mm f/8, 1200mm f/11)
  • Fisheye (6mm f/5.6, 7.5mm f/5.6, 8mm f/8, OP 10mm f/5.6)
  • 2.1cm f/4

  • 180 - 600mm f/8 ED
  • 360 - 1200mm f/11 ED
  • 200 – 600mm f/9.5
