Nikon D3200 Firmware - C firmware: Ver. 1.03 - Download

  • This software (firmware) is for the applicable model(s) indicated above.  
    This software is provided to those who agree to the terms of the software license at the bottom of this page. When the user selects the "Accept and begin download" option outside of the frame, agreement to the terms of the software license is inferred and the user is bound by the terms of the Nikon Corporation (hereafter “Nikon”) License Agreement.  Be sure that you have read and understand the terms of the license agreement before initiating download of this software.  
  • This service provides software for upgrading D3200 C firmware to Ver. 1.03. If the latest firmware version is already installed in your camera, you need not proceed with download or installation of this Firmware Upgrade. Current firmware versions can be verified from the Firmware version item in the camera's setup menu.
  • Be sure to read the section below regarding modifications enabled with upgrade before upgrading the firmware.  


  • After upgrading the firmware and confirming that the new firmware has been properly installed by turning off the camera, removing the memory card and turning the camera on again, be sure to turn the camera off and leave it off for five seconds or more before using it.

    Do not remove the battery or disconnect the AC adapter before five seconds have passed.

    If the battery was removed or the AC adapter was disconnected before the five seconds had passed, turn the camera on and then off again, leave it off for five seconds and then remove the battery or disconnect the AC adapter again. 

The camera may be damaged if power is interrupted or camera controls are operated during the update. Do not turn the camera off, remove or disconnect the power source, or operate camera controls during the update. If you encounter any issues or are unsure on how to update the firmware, kindly proceed to the nearest Nikon-authorized service representative for professional assistances.

Image Modifications enabled with C firmware Ver. 1.03

- The camera now supports display of error messages when lenses with a retractable lens mechanism (e.g., AF-S DX NIKKOR 18–55mm f/3.5–5.6G VR II) are used.
An error message is displayed and the shutter cannot be released when the lens barrel is retracted.

ImageConfirming the firmware version

  1. Turn on the camera.
  2. Press the MENU button and select "Firmware version" from the setup menu.
  3. The camera's firmware version will be displayed.
  4. Turn off the camera
