If the error message on the camera display is "This card cannot be used" or "This card cannot be read" then try to the following to solve the problem.
1. Confirm the card is correctly inserted. Take the memory card out of the camera and place it back in again. With some cameras, you can hear a click sound when the memory card is correctly inserted (usually SD cards). The memory card can only be inserted into the camera one way around - don't force it in!
2. Ensure you are using an approved memory card.
3. Check the memory card contacts. Take the card out and gently clean the contacts using a soft dry cloth (SD memory cards). Make sure no dust is left on the contacts from the cloth. For CompactFlash / XQD / CFExpress memory cards, use an air blower to remove dust particles from the connectors. Re-insert the memory card.
If the above steps fail to resolve the problem, please try another approved memory card. If the other approved memory card works then the original card is probably faulty.
