We have confirmed that certain Z6III, Z5II, and ZR cameras were manufactured using parts that do not meet our quality standards, and that this may cause the cameras to become inoperable. We have identified the range of serial numbers for the affected Z6III, Z5II, and ZR units, and would like to inform customers of our response to this issue.
Please note that all Z6III cameras sold in Europe are not affected. If you purchased a Z6III outside Europe, you can check whether your product is affected by clicking “Affected Product Serial Numbers” for the corresponding model below.
For affected products, Nikon will provide repairs free of charge regardless of the warranty period. Nikon will also cover the cost of shipping affected Z6III, Z5II, or ZR cameras to and from our service centers. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact your nearest authorized Nikon service center.
Repair requests for affected products will be accepted from 26th March 2026.

If the entered serial number matches one of the affected products, instructions for submitting a repair request will be displayed. If your product is not affected, you may continue using your camera with confidence.
Z5II
