What is the PSTI act?
• PSTI Act has the aim of protecting or enhancing the security of relevant connectable products made available to consumers in the United Kingdom and users of such products.
• Part 1 of the PSTI Act 2022 lays out security requirement specifications, products to which it relates, duties of relevant persons, enforcement of the Act.
• PSTI Regulations 2023 includes the security requirements that manufacturers of UK consumer connectable products will need to comply with and conditions for deemed compliance with these requirements.
• Part 1 of the PSTI Act (Product security) 2022 together with PSTI Regulations 2023 (coming into force on 29th of April 2024).
The table below shows the Nikon connected devices that are affected by the UK PSTI act 2002 and the date that Nikon will keep updating them for with security updates via firmware releases.
What happens if I have a security problem with my Nikon Product
Any customers who have concerns about the UK PSTI Act 2022 have two ways to report this:
1) Call +44 (0)330 123 0932 between the hours of 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holiday).
2) Report it online by filling out this web form using this link: https://www.nikonimgsupport.com/eu/BV_ask_support?ctry=GB&lang=en_GB
When filling out the form, follow the instructions below:
1. Enter your email address
2. Add text “PSTI” to the subject line
3. Write your concerns
4. Select product from the dropdown list
5. Press the Submit Question button
Once the form is complete, your case number will be displayed on screen and an automated email will be sent to your registered email address.
Resolution
Nikon will carry out an initial assessment and reply within 7 days. If the investigation is likely to take longer, we will keep you updated until it is resolved.
