EN-EL15 Series Rechargeable Li-ion Battery Compatibility

The EN-EL15 series rechargeable Li-ion batteries are mainly cross-compatible however electrical performance is improved with successive versions so using an earlier battery in a camera designed for use with a later battery will result in lower than expected performance (fewer pictures can be taken with a single charge). To guarantee your camera performs as specified in the product user manual, please use the battery specified in the manual.

To identify your battery, check the name-plate on the back of the battery and also insert it into the camera and check the: Setup menu > Battery Info.

EN-EL15c

• Introduced in 2020.

• Battery capacity is 2280mAh.

• Compatible with the Z8, Z7II, Z7, Z6III, Z6II, Z6, Z5, Zf, D500, D610, D750, D780, D810, D810A, D850, D7200 and D7500 cameras, in the MB-N10, MB-N11, MB-N12, MB-N14, MB-D12, MB-D14, MB-D15, MB-D16, MB-D17 and MB-D18 battery packs, the MH-25a/MH-34 battery charger or WT-7 wireless transmitter.

• Can be charged inside the Z8, Z7II, Z7, Z6III, Z6II, Z6, Z5 and Zf, cameras using the EH-7P/EH-8P + UC-E25.

• Can be charged inside the Z7II, Z6III, Z6II and Z5 cameras when connected to either a computer or Anker PowerCore+ 26800 PD 45W Power bank when using the optional UC-E25 cable.

EN-EL15b

• Introduced in 2018.

• Battery capacity is 1900mAh

• Use the MH-34 or MH-25/MH-25a battery chargers.

• Can be charged inside the Z8, Z7II, Z7, Z6III, Z6II, Z6, Z5, Zf, cameras using the EH-7P/EH-8P + UC-E25.

• Can be charged inside the Z7II, Z6III, Z6II and Z5 cameras when connected to either a computer or Anker PowerCore+ 26800 PD 45W Power bank when using the optional UC-E25 cable.

EN-EL15a

• Introduced in 2015.

• Battery capacity is 1900mAh.

• Use the MH-25 or MH-25a battery chargers.

EN-EL15 (Li-ion20) 

• Introduced in 2013.

• Battery capacity is 1900mAh

• Use the MH-25 or MH-25a battery chargers.

• Can be identified with the product name EN-EL15 with M-Z as the 9th digit in the serial number.

EN-EL15 (Li-ion01)

• Introduced in 2011.

• Battery capacity is 1900mAh

• Use the MH-25 or MH-25a battery chargers.

• Can be identified with product name EN-EL15 with A-L as the 9th digit in the lot number

• Note: service advisory for battery lot numbers E or F.
